Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Jazmine, who is Philadelphia native is a native of Philadelphia, and was raised in the city. Pam her mother is a former back-up singer of Philadelphia International Records. As a child the father of her was chosen as her curator at Strawberry Mansion Section. Strawberry Mansion Section. Her family later moved into this historical property. The 2005 graduate from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was the vocal music instructor. Sullivan began singing in the children's chorus in the contralto position, and then she joined the adult choir only a few years afterwards. Sullivan received little exposure to secular music. The singer recalls she was just 11 years old when a person asked her to sing solos in the church. The singer wasn't fully ready. Then, McDonald's held a contest that was open to children living in cities. I was selected to perform "Accept The Grace God Gives" in it's Showtime At the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. She was just 13 when she performed along to Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan had signed her first contract with Jive Records when she was fifteen. The label initially signed Sullivan to Jive Records when she was fifteen. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album, but the album never saw release. Sullivan was eventually dropped out of the company. Missy Elliott was the producer for a few tracks from their debut album. The most notable of these was "Backstabbers" from Timbaland and Timbaland, which Elliott created was one of Sullivan's top tracks.
