Tessa Thompson

The actor Tessa Lynn Thompson was born on October 3, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. The actress is the daughter the singer and songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the grandchild of musician-actor Bobby Ramos. She was born in Los Angeles and raised there until moving to Brooklyn. She is of Mexican, British Isles and Afro-Panamanian heritage. Thompson was a student at Santa Monica High School, which was where she performed in numerous theatre productions. Following her graduation she attended Santa Monica College where she earned a degree on cultural Anthropology. A Pasadena-based theater company performed her in a production. Boston Court Theatre, she appeared as Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". It was her performance that was rewarded with an NAACP Theatre nomination the same year. Her first appearance on television was in 2005 when she appeared on CBS.
